Camino de Santiago

We're planning to take a group of students to walk the Camino de Santiago, the ancient pilgrimage route across Spain that ends at the tomb of the Apostle James. Date TBD.

The Camino de Santiago has been walked by pilgrims for over a thousand years. The route crosses northern Spain and ends at the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, where Saint James the Apostle is buried. People walk it for all kinds of reasons. We're walking it as an act of prayer.

There's something about putting miles on your feet that strips away all the noise. You can't scroll your phone when your legs are tired and you've got another ten miles ahead. You just walk and pray and talk and think. Our students are going to walk together, celebrate Mass along the route, and carry their intentions all the way to the tomb of the Apostle.

What the Trip Looks Like

We'll walk a portion of the traditional Camino Francés, the most historic stretch of the route. Days start early, usually with Mass, and end with dinner and community. The walk itself takes several weeks.
